12 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Feb 18)

2. Trick Up The Sleeve

Ace Austin and Reno Scum (or Ace's toy soldiers, as Tessa Blanchard wonderfully called them earlier on in the aforementioned backstage promo) were victorious over Tessa, Trey, and Tommy Dreamer - or T-Squared, to make things easier - in the night's main event. Had it not been for the slightly better bout of Michael Elgin vs. Eddie Edwards, then this would've been the biggest Up from the night for sure.

Everything in the match just came together to create a spectacle of a six man tag team match. Trey, in particular, was on fine form here as he usually is, busting out all sorts of Meteora, double stomps, and backflip evasions. A unique moment in the middle of the match saw Trey lift up Tessa in a fireman's carry, launching her off Death Valley driver style into an assisted Frankensteiner. That's the sort of offence that make Trey and Tessa such a wonderful team - they've teamed on more than one occasions now, and each time it's been an absolute hoot to watch.

Trey wiped everyone out at ringside, before finding himself having the ropes kicked up between the legs, followed with a rope-assisted version of The Fold to gain the advantage over Tessa heading into Sacrifice. That event aside though, this still would've been equally as good had it just been a random match that didn't mean anything. It was the perfect example of a multi-person match actually working as opposed to just turning into an uncoordinated slugfest between everyone involved.

It just wasn't quite the best match of the night.
