12 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Feb 18)

1. Fight Forever

Eddie Edwards and Michael Elgin's best of five series rolled on this week, in what could have very well been the final match of the series had 'Big Mike' won. Eddie needed the three count or the submission here to be in with a chance of heading to the main event of Rebellion.

It has to be said that best of *insert number here* series' do have the chance of becoming easily repetitive, depending on whether or not the two (or more) people mix it up in every match, or do the same thing time after time. Thankfully, Edwards and Elgin have been doing the former of those options each time in the series.

There were a few repeated spots throughout the match in fairness but there were some mighty fine new additions to the rivalry in this bout, most notably a diving double stomp to the back from Eddie (a move he used to do with old American Wolves partner Davey Richards), plus a top rope Elgin Bomb. Somehow though, Eddie Edwards would be the winner, countering a normal Elgin Bomb with an inside cradle.

Now, we've got at least one more match between the duo to look forward to. As noted, there's nothing wrong with that whatsoever as long as they keep mixing things up. No-one should have to suffer through a rivalry once it's become stale with regards to the in-ring action.
