12 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill 2021
6. Canadian Strong Style
Josh Alexander vs. Brian Myers was a terrific choice for the pre-show. A dire 'story', if you can really call it that, coming into the pay-per-view, but an effective contest overall.
Josh's strong-style arsenal against 'The Most Professional Wrestler' was superb. His barrage of elbows were as hard-hitting as they come, while his unique and innovative technical takedowns kept Myers on his toes. The Canadian's consistent attack of Myers' ankle was a fine touch, as was Brian's awareness of his surroundings that led him to victory.
He pulled down Alexander's headgear, obstructing his vision in the process. One lariat later, and Hard To Kill began with a Brian Myers victory.
This was genuinely outstanding, even more so considering this was a mere pre-show contest. We rarely see Josh Alexander in singles action, and even when we do, he doesn't get to show this sort of offence. At the time of writing, all roads appear to be leading to Ethan Page departing Impact Wrestling. Your writer was worried Alexander would suffer from The North breaking up, however, this did a great job in getting Josh over as a singles performer. A pointless match from a story perspective, but in every other aspect, this was deserving of being on the main card.
