12 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill 2021

5. Violent By Design

Eric Young, Joe Doering, and Deaner are now going by the team name of Violent By Design. A fitting name, considering the three members, and an even more fitting way to describe their Old School Rules bout with Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, and Cousin Jake.

It was a straight-out fight, as these sorts of matches ought to be. All manner of weapons were utilised, the majority of the bout was fought on the outside of the ring, and everything made sense throughout the match, making it a mostly enjoyable contest. The only real downside here was that it was Eric Young who pinned Cousin Jake to get the win. Arguably, it would have been a far better conclusion for Deaner to have pinned his former tag partner, but regardless, the right team won.

Like he was in his in-ring debut two weeks ago, Joe Doering was on fire here. The former All Japan standout was battered with three steel chairs at one point, and managed to stand on his own two feet throughout the entirety of the onslaught. While you can easily argue this makes his adversaries look inferior to him, this is Joe Doering we're talking about. There's a reason he's a former two-time Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion in All Japan.

Going forward, the trio need to be a major deal within the company. On their own, the three are brilliant, but together, they make a genuine threat to the remainder of the locker room. Working with 'The World Class Maniac' is what's needed to get Deaner and Doering over as legitimate Impact stars.
