9. Braun Overcomes Poor Booking

We’ve detailed the horrid booking that befell Braun Strowman in 2018. None of that is in dispute here.

But what needs to be acknowledged is the fact that despite that poor booking, Strowman still was viewed by many fans as a viable world champion. Fans still react to his entrance and presence on Raw. If he topples Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble no one is going to bat an eyelash and think it isn’t possible.

That is a testament to Braun and his connection with fans. True, he’s kept in the conversation of a world title constantly and still demolishes nearly everyone in his path, so that certainly helps maintain his status. But we’ve seen other wrestlers get saddled with choking in big matches, have silly gimmicks, turn heel/face for no rhyme or reason, and not all of them recover.

So we have to give Strowman some positive marks here for that. Hopefully, we won’t be back here next year pining again for better booking for the Monster Among Men.
