3. Bliss’ Spooky Antics

You’d be forgiven if you put all of the Alexa Bliss hijinks out of your mind after she was written off in September. But Bliss’ previous nine months produced some of the most ridiculous, mind-numbing, intelligence-insulting stuff in recent memory.

Alexa took over for Bray Wyatt after he was written off by being burned alive, engaging in a series of spooky antics over the course of several months. The Pandemic Era allowed WWE to do more camera tricks and pre-recorded scenes, and they went way over the top with Bliss, as she morphed between the dark princess, the childlike sidekick, and the original Miss Bliss – mid-match. She appeared on a rocking horse in the ring during a bout.

Bliss also engaged in a feud with Randy Orton where she launched a fireball at him and had an intergender match where she used her supernatural powers to make a lighting rig fall and nearly crush the Viper.

But easily the worst part of this run was Lilly. Bliss’ doll dominated segments, and wrestlers were forced to treat it like Chucky. Shayna Baszler in particular was victimized by Lilly, as the MMA fighter had to job to the doll. Even returning to live crowds couldn’t stop Lilly, who “winked” at Doudrop during a match.

Seriously, there was nothing worse for an individual wrestler than what WWE foisted upon Bliss – and the fans. When you as a fan are embarrassed to have their family see this stuff onscreen, that’s how you know it’s really bad.
