12 Ways Famous Wrestling Streaks Ended

11. Kurt Angle Defeats Samoa Joe €“ TNA Genesis 2006

Throughout his first year with TNA, Samoa Joe took on a good chunk of the guys he had defeated during his successful Ring of Honor. By the end of 2005, he captured the X-Division Championship. While he lost a few matches under unique circumstances (ie. Not getting pinned in Triple Threat Matches, an Ultimate X Match, a Four Way, etc€), he had yet to be pinned or submitted. By the end of 2006, Joe had become TNA€™s top heel. Naturally he didn€™t take too kindly when Olympic gold medalist and former WWE Champion Kurt Angle showed up in his backyard. In the main event of Genesis, the two waged war in what was a hardcore wrestling fan€™s dream match. The bloody battle featured everything you could want and expect from the two. After taking each other€™s best shots, it was Angle €“ fresh off his star-making run at the top of WWE €“ who slapped on the ankle lock submission, forcing Joe to tap out. As fans literally jumped for joy, Mike Tenay made the call, €œThe streak is over! The year and a half undefeated streak of the Samoan Submission Machine Samoa Joe has come to an end here at Genesis!€
