Hmmmm...a man and a woman being the co-holders of a title. That sounds kind of familiar, almost as if the WWF did that exact same thing. Only this time around, it was less successful. In January of 2000, Chyna and Chris Jericho pinned each other in a match for the Intercontinental Title, and were both awarded as winners. Five months later, Crowbar and Daffney somehow accomplished the exact same feat with the Cruisweright title. What are the odds? While both Daffney and Crowbar were talented, it was sad to see the Cruiserweight belt become a joke over the previous year. There were a couple worse champions (which we'll get to in a bit), but the two of them did it no favors. Eventually the two faced off and Daffney won the title for herself, only to lose it to a man named Lieutenant Loco, due to interference in the match from Ms. Hancock, Major Gunns and G.I. Bro. Some people still wonder how WCW went out of business. Long gone were the days of Rey Mystertio Jr., Dean Malenko and Billy Kidman wearing the strap. It was now a prop. Props, though, don't sell tickets.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
