Sanity's death was a long time coming.

WWE finally dropped the hammer on the accursed group following a year-long main roster run throughout which they barely made television earlier this week, sending leader Eric Young to Raw in the Superstar Shake-Up. Killian Dain then confirmed the group's dissolution on Twitter. Their fans continue to mourn Sanity's demise, but it's probably for the best: outdated '90s-style gimmicks like theirs aren't conducive to main roster success in the modern era.

Young will likely assume a veteran gatekeeper's role on Raw, while Dain can now be pushed as a singles monster. Alexander Wolfe's path might be more interesting than both, though. The former wXw standout posted a cryptic Twitter message soon after the Superstar Shake-Up's conclusion, bidding farewell to both his former Sanity pals and WWE as a whole, leading to speculation that he was on the way out.

Pro Wrestling Sheet have since countered this with a report suggesting that Wolfe is on his way back to NXT. Regardless, "Goodbye #WWE" is a pretty definitive statement. Let's see if he follows through on it.
