12 Wrestlers With Terrible Backstories

5. The Working Men

We’re going to lump a few of these men together here as they could easily take up their own separate list. As we’ve seen throughout WWE history, they pay incredibly poorly.

The men and women who fight for the company apparently need part-time jobs just to keep the dream of being a wrestler alive. We’ve seen a dentist in Isaac Yankem, Duke “The Dumpster” Droese as a garbageman, a Repo Man, a ballroom dancer and former NHL and MLB players just to name a few.

Now, these job characters are confusing for many reasons. Where did they find the time to train during their full-time job? Why did they all insist on wearing their work uniforms into a combat sport? Couldn’t Yankem still have fought and worn tights? You’d think tights and elbow pads would be easier to fight in than scrubs.

While the majority of these people didn't work out so well, you could pretty definitely say that all of their backstories are nonsense.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
