12 Wrestlers WWE Removed From History

3. Macho Man Randy Savage

Macho Man Randy Savage was the biggest act behind Hulk Hogan in the WWF's cartoon era boom. But for nearly two decades, WWE told their history as if he was just another guy. They famously omitted him from the WWE Hall Of Fame for years, before finally relenting in 2015, although even then his induction was a support act rather than the headlining act. The reason for WWE's two decade stance on ignoring Savage's WWF history is a subject of hot debate. Some suggested that Vince McMahon personally banned all mentions of Savage, due to heat he had with him for sleeping with Stephanie. It was strictly a rumour, no one really knows for sure. All that was certain, was that Savage got continually overlooked when WWE looked back on great moments and matches. In a true representation of WWF history, he should have been right up there with Hogan and Andre when talking about cornerstones of the company. He was a two time WWF Champion, including a 371 day reign that started in 1988. That length of reign wasn't matched again until John Cena held the belt for 380 days from September 2006.
