12 WWE Criticisms That Split The Wrestling Audience

9. Lack Of Clear Rankings System

At WrestleMania 31, Sting wrestled his first ever match under the WWE banner. Losing to Triple H, the 'Icon' wasn't seen much until he was installed as the challenger for Seth Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Night Of Champions. That's not logical, because the only bout the man contested, he came out of on the losing end. Of course, Sting is a huge star. One of WCW's household names, the man has been linked with WWE for over a decade. There was a lot of excitement regarding his title showdown against Rollins, because people were interested to see a clash of generations. Sadly, little was done on television to explain why someone with a 0-1 WWE record was instantly the number one contender for the biggest belt going. This represents a larger problem for WWE, namely the fact that there's no clear contendership ladder. Some fans will argue that Sting is a wrestling legend, and therefore deserved the crack at the belt. That gets on the nerves of those who prefer consistency, because this logic means returning legends don't need to qualify for title shots, they simply get them because of what they've done in a different company.
