12 WWE Criticisms That Split The Wrestling Audience

8. John Cena Always Goes Over

In truth, this point raised by a lot of jaded wrestling fans isn't strictly true. John Cena is often pushed to the forefront of programming, but he doesn't win every single match he competes in. This year alone, Cena has lost to the likes of Seth Rollins, Rusev and even Kevin Owens. The latter defeat helped establish Owens on the main roster, and he's the current Intercontinental Champion. More casual fans simply cannot understand the backlash aimed at Cena, it likely infuriates them. Scanning various wrestling-related forums online, it's not difficult to find entire conversations dedicated to the man's validity as a headliner. Many fans desperately want the guy to turn heel, despising his 'holier than thou' leanings and 'whiter than white' good guy mentality. For those who scrutinise everything WWE presents, John Cena is everything that's wrong with pro wrestling in 2015. In fact, he's been the pits for over a decade, and his longevity doesn't mask his failings. Until the man retires, or unthinkably turns heel, this argument will rage on until the end of time.
