12 WWE Hall-Of-Famers Who Wrestled After Being Inducted
3. Goldberg
Hall of Fame induction: 2018
Only one Hall-of-Famer has won a WWE world title after being inducted. And few wrestlers’ post-retirement careers have been more controversial than Goldberg, who has been more heavily protected as a 50-plus-year-old legend than he was as an active member of the Raw roster in 2003-04.
The divisive superstar retired from wrestling in 2004, ending a short but impactful career. Drawn out of retirement 12 years later, Goldberg had a short run from 2016-17 that saw him defeat Brock Lesnar, beat Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship, and then lose it to Lesnar, all in the span of 4-1/2 months.
In 2018, Goldberg was welcomed into the Hall of Fame, and it appeared like his fairytale renaissance was over. But then he was lured back into action in Saudi Arabia in a disaster of a match against The Undertaker in 2019. To wash away the taste of that horrific bout, he demolished Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.
Sadly, we weren’t done with Goldberg just yet, as he murdered The Fiend in Saudi Arabia for the Universal Championship, which he promptly lost to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 37.
Goldberg’s sad showings have continued to the present day, as he has at least one more match on his current deal and will face Roman Reigns for the Universal title at Elimination Chamber this weekend.
