Hall of Fame induction: 2012 (Edge) & 2017 (Phoenix)

OK, so we’re cheating a bit here to squeeze in an extra entry. But sticking the married couple of Edge & Beth Phoenix together makes sense since they’re the first married couple to both be in the WWE Hall of Fame, and they’re the first to also team together.

Edge’s career was cut short due to neck injuries in 2011, ending a run that probably still had a good 5-10 years left on it (sound familiar?). But in 2020, the Rated-R Superstar was the mother of all surprise Royal Rumble entrants, blowing the roof off the stadium after a nine-year absence.

An injury would cut Edge’s comeback short in 2020, but he would return in 2021 to win his second Royal Rumble match, going coast-to-coast from #1. He had a well-received rivalry with Seth Rollins and a not-so-well-received feud with Miz, but he’s still active today, 10 years after his HOF induction.

As for Phoenix, she came back for the first women’s Royal Rumble in 2018, then competed at WrestleMania 35 for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Natalya. The duo tagged together on a European tour that spring. Most recently, the Glamazon and Edge teamed up last month to dispatch with Miz & Maryse.

Of all the Hall-of-Famers who still periodically compete, Phoenix is by far the youngest (41) and could probably have a second career if she wanted to have a go at it.
