12 WWE PPVs With Two Great World Title Matches
7. Survivor Series 2007 (Randy Orton Vs. Shawn Michaels; Batista Vs. The Undertaker)
Damn, 2007 really was a good year for World Title matches on PPV, wasn't it?
By the time Survivor Series came around, Edge had already jumped to SmackDown, where he cashed in Money in the Bank on The Undertaker to win the World Title. An injury would force him to vacate the gold, which was won by The Great Khali (really) and was now back in the hands of 'The Animal'. Meanwhile, over on the red brand, the age of Orton was just beginning.
At Survivor Series, Undertaker challenged for Batista's World Title match in what would be their fourth and final PPV match of the year. With a draw and a victory for each man, there was only one place to decide who truly deserved to be champion: Hell in a Cell.
In the final moments of another brutal title match, Edge would make his return and cost The Undertaker the victory, allowing Batista to keep his championship, and starting the build for their upcoming WrestleMania main-event.
Orton and Michaels fought in a classic match which stipulated that if Orton was disqualified he'd lose the belt, but also that Shawn couldn't use his superkick.
In the end, in a nice bit of psychology, HBK tried to deliver Sweet Chin Music out of instinct, stopping just in time. However, that would give Orton enough time to hit the RKO and retain the belt.
