12 WWE PPVs With TWO Unsatisfactory World Title Matches
3. Survivor Series 2013 (John Cena Vs. Alberto Del Rio; Randy Orton Vs. The Big Show)
Remember that time when Daniel Bryan was really over with the audience and WWE responded with their annual Big Show push that rarely goes anywhere?
In the final pay-per-view before the WWE retired the World Heavyweight Championship and unified it with the WWE Championship, they were clearly thinking ahead already and thus left Survivor Series with a pair of forgettable title matches.
Randy Orton was challenged by The Big Show in a plodding bout in front of an equally dead crowd, retaining the gold after taking Show's head off his shoulders with a rare Punt Kick.
Earlier that night, John Cena put the World Championship on the line against former champ Alberto Del Rio in a rematch from Hell in a Cell. The two kind of walked through the motions and worked a very similar match to Hell in a Cell, with Cena winning yet again and sending Del Rio all the way down to the undercard.
The most notable moment from this whole show was the challenge between both champions at the end of the event, setting the stage for the title unification match at December's Tables Ladders & Chairs event.
