12 WWE PPVs With TWO Unsatisfactory World Title Matches
7. Hell In A Cell 2009 (Randy Orton Vs. John Cena; CM Punk Vs. The Undertaker)
The inaugural Hell in a Cell pay-per-view came at a time when WWE was introducing gimmicked events left, right, and center.
Another thing that WWE kept throwing away left, right, and center was John Cena vs. Randy Orton, with this following their 'I Quit' encounter from September's Breaking Point event.
The match was sandwiched between their Breaking Point and Bragging Rights (60 minute Iron Man bout), with the two trading the belt back and forth in all three of those events. This, being no exception to the rule, was Orton's sixth World Championship victory after a Punt Kick.
SmackDown's World Heavyweight Championship scene also featured a rematch from Breaking Point, with The Undertaker challenging CM Punk inside the cell after the Teddy Long Screwjob(!) that took place.
Undertaker completely wiped the floor with the soon-to-be leader of the Straight Edge Society, beating him decisively and ending Punk's reign after a relatively poor match - especially when compared to their bout at WrestleMania 29 years later.
CM Punk wasn't the same after this one-sided feud, going from retiring the hottest babyface in WWE (Jeff Hardy) in the Summer to being one whole year without one single win on pay-per-view just like that.
