12 WWE Rematches That Are Better Than The Original Classic

7. Randy Savage Vs Ric Flair (Prime Time Wrestling 1.11.1993)

Woooooooo! Or should that be 'Ooooooh yeah!'. Regardless of whether you were on Team 'Nature Boy' or Team 'Macho Man' to see the two in the ring together was always a treat. Flair and Savage's match at WrestleMania VIII is a classic. Their WWF Title rematch on an episode of Prime Time Wrestling later that year, is also very good. On the second attempt, that is. As Ric Flair explained in his 2003 memoir 'To Be The Man':
€œthe match was terrible. Randy€™s heart wasn€™t in it at all. Scott Hall was supposed to interfere. Randy didn€™t like Scott personally, so that made it even worse. In fact, things got so bad that in the middle of the match, Bobby Heenan came out of the dressing room, whistled to get our attention, and made the cut sign with his throat. Vince didn€™t like what he was seeing on the monitor, so he was calling a conference in the back. The two of us just stopped dead in the ring and bailed. Vince was standing on the other side of the curtain, not looking very happy. €˜This isn€™t what I laid out,€™ he told us. We went over the details again, and returned to the ring half an hour later.€
Vince's pep talk must have done the trick as Savage and Flair went back out and had a much better match. Savage's selling of his inured leg is a thing to behold.
