12 WWE SummerSlam 2019 Impulse Reactions

10. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross Vs. The IIconics

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross went full babyface against The IIconics in an effort to establish some in-ring chemistry with the former Women's Tag Team Champions, including Bliss embracing her Buzz Lightyear aesthetic for cheap pops before Nikki took the beatdown for the heat.

"Hot" tag would be a little generous, but the crowd were willing to give the titleholders the benefit of the doubt as they ran through the Challengers in a pedestrian conclusion to Peyton Royce and Billie Kay's passable rematch.

Cross and Bliss will get these belts over again, of this we can all be grateful. That they even made the Kickoff Show as a last minute addition is a credit to the pair releasing them from the hostage-like possession of the joke former champions.

The WrestleMania-to-SummerSlam journey of the doubles straps has been depressing. "To infinity and beyond" might be a bit of a stretch, but to the Survivor Series in good health would be a huge leap forward if the Champions can at least manage that.
