12 WWE Wrestlers Who Worked Through Chronic Injury
2. CM Punk
"I have never been to a WWE event where Punk was not in considerable pain," Mick Foley said of CM Punk in 2014. "Ice packs, heating pads, and visits to the trainer were as much a part of his daily routine as eating. sleeping, and wrestling. Performing at that level, in that degree of pain was only possible when accompanied by the passion." That quote pretty much summed up CM Punk's WWE experience. He was always hurt and he tended to just work through it. His body just didn't hold up well to the rigours of the WWE lifestyle. He was extremely susceptible to injury, and moves that some could take fine would always seem to end up hurting him. You could see the mounting exhaustion on him in his last year with the company. He'd often come out with something heavily bandaged and he moved more gingerly in the ring. He just looked absolutely knackered, with his eyes dropping like they hadn't seen a good night sleep in years. After quitting, Punk pretty much threw WWE and their doctor under the bus, blaming them for some of his physical problems. He's now being sued for a million dollars by Dr Chris Amann.
