With WWE reportedly looking to boost its tag team ranks, it looks as if a couple of ol' favourites could be on their way back to the market leader.

Per Cory Hayes of Falsh Finish, Enzo Amore has recently been at the WWE Performance Center, and was there yesterday ahead of the NXT show. This comes at a time when Big Bill's existing AEW deal is due to expire imminently, prompting many fans to speculate that we could be seeing a WWE return for Big Cass and Enzo Amore.

Now, Enzo may just have been the latest in the line of guest coaches to stop by the WWE PC, following in the footsteps of the likes of Mark Coffey, Ricky Morton, and Jazz in recent months. Or if there's a little more to this, we could be getting set to see the WWE return of Smacktalker Skywalker and his seven-foot-tall pal. And you can't teach that.

A former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, Enzo Amore was released by the company in 2018 after he was accused of sexual assault. The matter was later dropped due to insufficient evidence, and a friend of the alleged victim also came forward with text messages that suggested those accusations had been falsified. Since that WWE exit, Amore has performed as nZo and Real1 for the likes of MLW, TNA, ROH, and NJPW, as well as various independent promotions.

In the case of Big Bill/Cass, he also departed WWE in 2018, citing depression and alcohol addiction as factors in that exit. The powerhouse has managed to turn his life around and had a notable spell in TNA before landing in AEW in 2022. A one-time AEW Tag Team Champion, the 38-year-old has, at times, been a genuine standout of AEW programming when allowed the opportunity, though he's been a far more fleeting presence on AEW TV in recent months, as highlighted by the fact that he's only wrestled two AEW matches this year, both of which were on Collision, both of which were losses, the last of which was in February.

As Enzo and Big Cass, the pair teamed together from 2013 to 2017, initially in NXT before taking their act to the main roster. Whether a WWE return really is now on the horizon, we'll have to wait and see.

Where the WWE tag team ranks are concerned, recent reports suggest that WWE may be looking to call up some NXT teams or make makeshift duos more permanent fixtures, such as the recent pairing of the Miz and Kit Wilson. Of course, if only the promotion had a couple of great veteran teams already on their books, such as, I dunno, the Motor City Machine Guns or the New Day...
