The pieces were also in place at WrestleMania 19 for Hulk Hogan to have the fantasy match of a lifetime with Stone Cold Steve Austin. While it was originally proposed for WrestleMania 18 and shot down by Austin, they could have gotten their act together to give fans that battle in Seattle. Instead, Austin wrestled The Rock in a classic that turned out to be the last match of Stone Colds career. Hogan wrestled Vince McMahon in what turned out to be the last WrestleMania match of The Hulksters career. Both were outstanding performances. Its just a shame to know that this was the night the window closed on Hogan vs. Austin. Reasons as to why the match didnt materialize remain dubious. Austin himself has said that he didnt think it would be that good based on where they were physically. Hogan proved that wrong in his matches against The Rock and Mr. McMahon. If it came down to an argument as to who would win, then it would be terrible to know fans never got to see it over something that wouldnt have hurt either guy.
