13 Classic Matches That Should Have Happened At WrestleMania

9. The Rock vs. Triple H €“ WWF Championship €“ WrestleMania 2000

In one of the most head-scratching decisions in WrestleMania history, red hot WWF Champion Triple H defeated the even hotter People€™s Champion The Rock in a Four Way Elimination Match involving Mick Foley and The Big Show at WrestleMania 2000. You see, The Rock won the 2000 Royal Rumble in controversial fashion €“ his feet touched the floor €“ when he last eliminated The Big Show and Triple H was still involved in a bitter rivalry with Mick Foley. At No Way Out, Triple H forced Foley into retirement with a Hell in a Cell victory. The Rock lost to The Big Show after interference from Shane McMahon that same night. So instead of giving fans a one-on-one contest between two guys in their prime who make up one of the greatest rivalries in the history of the business, they wedged in The Big Show and Mick Foley €“ with a McMahon in every corner. Rearrange a few things and BOOM, you have The Rock vs. Triple H one-on-one at WrestleMania 2000. Instead, fans were given an overbooked main event where the bad guy retained the WWF Championship. The following month at Backlash, The Rock defeated Triple H in a singles match for the WWF Championship.
