13 Classic Matches That Should Have Happened At WrestleMania

8. Hulk Hogan vs. €œThe Million Dollar Man€ Ted DiBiase €“ WWF Championship €“ WrestleMania 4

Was there ever a more logical WrestleMania match to be made when you consider the circumstances leading up to it? Good Lord. For the first time in company history, the WWF Championship had been declared vacant. Why? Because €œThe Million Dollar Man€ Ted DiBiase paid a referee to undergo plastic surgery to look like Dave Hebner and count Hulk Hogan€™s shoulders to the mat during his WrestleMania 3 rematch with Andre the Giant so Hogan would lose the WWF Championship and Andre could sell it to him. That actually happened. The plan went off without a hitch until the real Dave Hebner showed up to blow the lid off the ruse. WWF President Jack Tunney declared the title vacant and booked a tournament for WrestleMania 4. Hogan and Andre were scheduled to meet in the second round €“ both were given a first round bye. Instead of Hogan picking up a second victory over Andre to meet DiBiase in the finals to get revenge, Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson made the call to put DiBiase in the next bracket position, have Hogan and Andre wrestle to a double disqualification, and award DiBiase a third round bye to the finals. The Million Dollar Man lost to €œMacho Man€ Randy Savage in the finals and the rest is history. Hogan eventually got his hands on DiBiase at WrestleMania, but it was alongside Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake in a losing effort to DiBiase and IRS at WrestleMania 9.
