Okay, so technically this is an entire match as opposed to a single moment, but you could probably argue that this one’s worthy of a place on the list for its awesome promo package alone.

Heading into Survivor Series 2005, the headlining rivalry was that of the inter-brand warfare between SmackDown and Monday Night Raw. And remember, this was back when the brand split had been running for a number of years, meaning there’d actually been enough time for a rivalry to develop between the two sides.

The program had begun at the Raw Homecoming special on Oct. 3. In celebration of Raw returning to the USA Network, this was essentially a supershow featuring wrestlers from both of the two brands. Not that this meant that the SmackDown boys would be welcomed with open arms though. Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff came out during their match, cut the lights and called for a commercial to leave them looking like absolute chumps.

What followed were weeks of classic gang warfare, with SmackDown invading Raw PPVs, Raw invading SmackDown tapings, and even the brand’s GMs getting caught up in all the commotion.

The match itself was solid enough, but I’ve included this one largely because of the pre-match build and the wider story that surrounded it.
