13 Greatest Moments In WWE Survivor Series History
6. The Undertaker’s Debut - Survivor Series 1990
It’s become pretty fashionable to make your WWE debut at Survivor Series; we’ve already covered the Rock’s first outing, and there may or may not be some more first-time appearances in the final few slides of this list.
But if we’re going to talk about Survivor Series debuts then we simply have to touch upon the Undertaker’s arrival at the 1990 PPV.
Revealed as the surprise member of Ted DiBiase’s team, the Deadman emerged to the sound of that iconic organ and prompted a fitting reaction from Roddy Piper on commentary, urging us all (as if we needed any encouragement) to “look at the size of that ham hock!”
Truth be told, I still don’t know what a ham hock is. What I do know though, is that Undertaker looked imperious when he finally took to the ring, eliminating both Koko B. Ware and Dusty Rhodes before he was counted out when continuing his pursuit of Rhodes. In his defence, the rules of pro wrestling probably aren't a specialist subject of your average undead mortician...
Irrespective, it was enough to bring down the curtain on a rather impactful debut, which also just happened to set in motion perhaps the most legendary career in the history of Survivor Series—and indeed of WWE.
