13 Match Star Ratings For AEW Full Gear 2022

8. Jade Cargill Vs. Nyla Rose - AEW TBS Title Match

Jungle Boy Jack Perry
AEW

The women stood no chance.

Not only is that true of the TBS Title match, but those five words can be applied to practically every broadcast filmed by AEW cameras.

This match, for the most part, was really not good at all. The Jade Cargill formula has worn thin, and she's barely received as a star for whom actual in-ring performance is almost secondary these days. It's a shame. She's such a tremendous presence and sh*t-talker, but the fans have been conditioned to perceive her as an afterthought.

Never the smoothest nor the most intense in-ring, this was actually a notch below her best work. Usually clunky, but with a savvy grasp of how to control a crowd, she seemed off, possibly as a result of ill-fitting attire. She seemed distracted and didn't engage the crowd with her usual taunts and poses, which meant her basic stuff looked precisely that.

Happily, both women are appreciated by the fans enough, in spite of lazy booking, to have worked a reasonably loud and dramatic finishing sequence when the bombs dropped.

Otherwise, this was rough.

Star Rating: ★¼
