13 Most Emotional WrestleMania Moments

12. Eddie Guerrero And Chris Benoit Embrace

At the time, the final moments of Wrestlemania 20 brought a tear to the eye of even the coldest of hearts. Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit, best friends who had experienced the highs and lows of the business together for over a decade, who had both been labelled two small or not main event level players, embraced with their respective World Championships in what truly felt like a changing of the guard. These two friends had overcome all of the obstacles in front of them and reached the very top of the wrestling industry. Earlier in the night Guerrero had retained the WWE Championship against Kurt Angle, then the final match of the card saw Benoit win HHH€™s World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat than also featured Shawn Michaels. The conclusion of the show saw Eddie come down to ringside to celebrate with his best friend. After years of busting their ass, it seemed as if the time was here for these two talents to finally be given the ball to run with. It felt fresh, it felt new, and it was exactly what the wrestling fans of the time were crying out to see. In truth, the end of Wrestlemania 20 is a tough watch these days. Eddie Guerrero would sadly pass away just over 18 months later, whilst the heinous final days of Chris Benoit were only 18 months or so after Eddie€™s passing. This is a moment that evoked huge emotion back when it happened and evokes huge emotion when watched today €“ it€™s just two very different types of emotion.
