While the role fits him perfectly, I often feel like Luke Harpers character is what holds him back. The man is a fantastic wrestler, and he can speak well on the mic, but his gimmick calls for him to be the strong, silent type as opposed to his mentor, Bray Wyatt, who can speak to his heart's content and back up every word in the ring. I worry that Harper will be stuck in a role backing up Wyatt or someone else for a large portion of his career, when hes good enough to be the dominant, creepy heel that the mid-card needs. The waters were tested this year for Luke Harper to go it alone, and while he did get a short Intercontinental Championship reign under his belt, it ultimately resulted in him being lost in the shuffle for a while after WrestleMania. If I was to book him myself, whether he eventually parts ways with Bray Wyatt again or not, he should be placed in a big-time rivalry with someone like John Cena for the United States Title, just to see how he fairs in a high stakes situation without Wyatt backing him up.
