The fact Trick lost his United States Title to Baron Corbin suggests 2 things.

Firstly, that Williams is heading skyward into the main event scene on SmackDown. Second, that the US Title will drop down a notch in terms of importance on the show. If Chad Gable doesn't beat him to it, then perhaps Corbin will bring those ‘Open Challenges’ back on Friday nights. He is running with a 'smart veteran' thing though, so putting himself in jeopardy might not be logical from a character standpoint.

Also, it'd be lovely if Trick ditched Lil Yachty as his hype man soon. The rapper vanished for a while, but returned to screens at SummerSlam. However, it just doesn’t make sense that a babyface like Williams has someone who effectively cheats on his behalf, and Yachty has one of the most annoying voices ever. Plus, he blew some of his spots on Sunday by being late for a stick shot and then almost missing the table he was supposed to bump through.

If Trick Willy is going to motor up the card towards those lucrative main events, then he has to leave his pal in the dust. Imagine The Rock had some yappy rapper in his corner during his headline push? Nah, it wouldn't have happened. He did his own talking, and so should Williams. He doesn't need Yachty at all.

What he needs is the chance to show that he can come through on potential, and he deserves to bask in that spotlight on his own.
