13 Reasons To Love Eddie Guerrero Vs. Rey Mysterio In WWE

4. The Great American Bash

Indeed Eddie wasn't finished yet, involving Rey's son in the storyline. Eddie claimed he had a big secret about Dominick (played by Mysterio's real-life son), a secret he would tell unless Rey could defeat Eddie yet again at the Great American Bash PPV. Dominick accompanied his Dad to ringside for the match. Although the action was solid, with more water-tight exchanges, the crowd wasn't really with this one. Perhaps they were burned out on Rey versus Eddie after so many televised and PPV matches? Or maybe they just didn't like the direction it had taken by involving Rey's family. Whatever the reason, they were quiet for large stretches of the match. As for the result, it was another W in the column next to Rey's name, after he surprised Eddie with a rollup following a cocky cover. Eddie spent too much time playing up to Dominick and let his guard down. Mysterio's secret was safe (or so we thought). Despite the crowd being far from hot, this was another worthy addition to the Guerrero/Mysterio series. After the match, an irate Eddie turned his attention to a small group of hecklers seated in the front row who were chanting '0 in 7', a reference to Eddie's recent record against Rey Rey. The best match of a poor PPV, but not Rey and Eddie's finest hour.
