13 Things We Learned From Luke Harper On Talk Is Jericho
7. Getting Signed By WWE
When Luke got the contract offer from WWE the next step was for him to go to Pittsburgh to get a company physical. When he was being examined by the doctor he kept grabbing his knees and muttering to himself. Harper asked if anything was wrong and the doc told him his knees were "a little loose." He asked if it was going to hurt his chances and the the doctor replied that it wasn't up to him. Six weeks went by and he didn't hear anything, and all the while he was placing calls continuously trying to check up on his status. By the time WrestleMania 27 rolled around he had resigned himself to the thought that WWE wasn't going to bring him on board. The a few days after the big event he received the call that everything was fine and he needed to report to Florida. Luke had spent the past two months at home with his son baby while his wife was working, and a few weeks after signing the contract he already received a paycheck. He went ahead and moved to Tampa and stayed at his mom's place in nearby Clearwater, commuting back and forth before settling on a place with his family. After spending a year in developmental Luke and his wife felt like they were going to be there for a while so they moved to a permanent home in Orlando, but a week after they settled in he was called up to the main roster.
