13 Things We Learned From New Day On Talk Is Jericho
4. Xavier Getting Signed
Woods and E tease Kofi for being older than them, call him "Pops" and talk about the generation gap within New Day. They laugh about how they grew up watching Kofi wrestle and looked up to him. Xavier says he was actually part of him making it to WWE. He tells the story of how he broke into the business, beginning by skipping college classes so that he could drive from South Carolina to the home of the former WWE developmental Deep South Wrestling in Georgia. He walked in in the middle of practice - while Kofi was in the ring - wearing a suit with resume in hand and equates the moment to the cliche scene in movies when someone walks in and the record scratches and everything comes to a halt. Trainer Jody Hamilton invited him to come in for a match but right after that WWE pulled their involvement from the promotion. Two years later after leaving TNA he did the exact thing at FCW, and Kofi was there again. Jericho then talks about his time in TNA and Woods says he's the biggest Apollo Creed fan and that's why he based on his prior gimmick around him, crediting Dutch Mantell for naming him.
Brad Hamilton is a writer, musician and marketer/social media manager from Atlanta, Georgia. He's an undefeated freestyle rap battle champion, spends too little time being productive and defines himself as the literary version of Brock Lesnar.
