5. Original Names & Music For The Group
The four get into a discussion about the first names that were pitched for the group, something Jericho says he loves because everyone has the awful names story and asks them what some of them were. They name some real gems like "Fresh Coat of Paint" which Big E. says he thinks the writers ripped directly from their theme since it was in the lyrics. Other potential names were "KBX", which stood for Kofi, Big, Xavier, House of Light, and H.O.P.E. (House Of Positive Energy). On the subject of their theme music, the original track they were given was "the worst gospel music ever" according to Kofi. Big E. interjects and said that it wasn't that it was necessarily bad, but more so that it was slow and sounded like it was recorded in the 1940s. The three spent all night trying to groove to the music and let it grow on them, but just couldn't deal with it and told creative it wasn't going to work. The guys brought in some Kirk Franklin and told them to come up with something more along those lines and wound up with what they have now. They talk about how glad they are that they went with the name New Day because the chant works perfectly with the cadence of the clap and the music. The end of this segment has a hilarious portion where the guys talk about how they like Rusev now since he's become emo after his break-up with Lana, and make fun of the sad pictures he posts on Twitter.
