13 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling (Jun 2)

3. OVE Is Cancelled

It hasn't been the greatest time as of late for oVe, with Sami Callihan and then Madman Fulton departing the once destructive faction, leaving just Dave and Jake Crist as the last two men remaining. Make that just Dave left, as his brother instead found a new home with Joseph P. Ryan and Cancel Culture.

Ryan was in action against Crazzy Steve, with the remains of oVe in his corner, all three men feeling disgruntled at the recent return of Steve. The former World Tag Team Champion was put away from a superkick, albeit following the assistance of the Crists, in a match that saw him get in an abundance of high-octane offence that consisted of strikes and biting. That was fine. It was a decent match, but the aftermath of Jake spin kicking his own flesh and blood in the temple made the segment far better.

While this column insisted that Callihan and Fulton leaving the Crists for pastures new would do wonders for their tag team career, having them go solo could also work on a much higher level. We've already seen a glimpse of Jake as a singles star, having been a former X Division Champion. Maybe this is what Dave needs to get his name back on the map in Impact. Hopefully this wasn't a one-off moment, and we get a proper brother vs. brother blood rivalry.
