13 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling (Jun 2)

4. Never Bet Against An Ace

Ace Austin has won the tournament to earn the right to challenge Tessa Blanchard for her World Championship, despite not even being an original entrant in the eight-man field. Had it not been for Michael Elgin's assault on Ken Shamrock that saw 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' unable to enter, Ace would be without the opportunity to become the youngest World Champion in Impact history.

With Trey laid out backstage following a not-so-mystery attacker assaulting him, it would be his Rascalz pal Wentz that took the fight to Austin, and what a fight it was. Right off the bat, Austin was spiked with a snapmare driver, which only served as a taste of what was to come during the match. Both men used their long limbs to strike one another down mid-flight, with Ace in particular doing things that simply shouldn't be possible. How is a cartwheel on the ring apron even capable of being pulled off?!

The Fold was what it took for Ace Austin to cement himself as Tessa Blanchard's next contender, just the person Ace wants to win the championship from. While it would make for a huge television match, it looks like we could very well have our Slammiversary 2020 main event right here.
