13 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling (Jun 2)

2. Future Endeavoured... For Now

Ace Austin vs. Wentz may have been the in-ring main event to this week's episode of Impact, but it wasn't the final image fans saw onscreen.

Instead, we were treated to a video package of a man sitting in front of a television, watching a breaking news segment that centred around the crop of recently-released WWE stars. Eric Young, Rusev, Drake Maverick, Curt Hawkins, EC3, Mike and Maria Kanellis, and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were all featured one way or another throughout the package, although Drake obviously won't be heading back into time soon given the conclusion to this week's NXT.

While not all of these talents will likely be coming to the promotion in one big bundle, it does create some buzz heading towards the 18 July Slammiversary pay-per-view. Young and EC3 are both former World Champions and Hawkins won the World Tag Team Championships, while the Kanellises won the X Division and Knockouts Championships. Rusev, Gallows, and Anderson are yet to appear for the promotion, unless you count the GFW shows for The Good Brothers.

A smart move on Impact's part.
