13 Ups & 2 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Knockdown 2021

1. Living In The '90s

Chelsea Green Renee Michelle
IMPACT Wrestling

Renee Michelle would have fit perfectly in Vince McMahon's ideal women's division of the late-1990s. She's hardly the only worker still relying on the whole 'I'm pretty, therefore I'm the best' schtick, but she's made it her entire personality. There's nothing else to her, as she doesn't really back it up in the ring, or at least she didn't when facing Chelsea Green.

This felt like Green was attempting to carry Michelle to a decent match. It appeared she was laying in her shots at times, with a pump kick towards the end being noticeably more brutal than usual. This would have worked, had Renee done the same. Instead, her offence felt aimless. She didn't have a single highlight from the match, so it's tough to question why IMPACT brought her back again. She was hardly any better in last year's Knockouts Tag Team Titles tournament.

An I'm Prettier ironically finished off Renee. We'll get to it later in the article, but this should have swapped match times with Mercedes Martinez vs. Brandi Lauren. As effective as that was a quote-unquote squash match, Green vs. Michelle would have worked better - and been far more enjoyable - had it gone shorter.
