13 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown On FOX (Oct 4)

2. That's Gotta Be Cain!

A couple of caveats with this one:-

1. Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar is informed by their MMA history. Cain TKO'd Brock to become UFC Heavyweight Champion at UFC 121 back in 2010. If you didn't know this beforehand, there's a chance you got nothing out of last night's show-closer.

2. Velasquez probably should've kept that t-shirt on. He's a stone-cold killer, but he looks less than impressive when stood next to Brock.

Regardless, this was a suitably shocking end to a night of major thrills and spills. Brock and Paul Heyman were celebrating in the ring when Rey Mysterio's music hit, and out stepped the lucha legend with Cain by his side. A brief staredown ensued. Then, Velasquez took Lesnar to the mat and bludgeoned him with ground and pound, forcing the new WWE Champion to flee up the ramp.

A big, impactful debut to close a big, impactful show, let's see if the duo's worked bout is as compelling as their shoot fight was.
