13 Ups & 3 Downs From NJPW Dominion 6.9 2019

12. Tanahashi Triumphs In Solid Six-Man

Though nothing on the Dominion 6.9 card felt like true filler, Bullet Club's six-man tag against Hiroshi Tanahashi, Juice Robinson, and Ryusuke Taguchi looked like the evening's least essential match. It at had White's BOSJ victory and long-running feud with Tana to play off but it still seemed thrown together, as Taiji Ishimori, Chase Owens, and Taguchi have no obvious direction at the moment.

What we got was a decent little six-man that concluded with Tanahashi pinning Owens, as Robinson blasted White with a stiff left hand on the outside (accompanied by a charming "EAT SH*T!" from the former United States Champion). It was good enough to finish as an Up, but only a shade or two above average, with Tana's rebound the sole major talking point. That new finisher looked rough, though.

We're now entering the annual "Tanahashi might be too injured to participate in the G1 Climax" storyline. Don't let yourselves get worked: The Ace will be there.
