13 Ups & 4 Downs For Impact Wrestling In 2019
11. Bound For Glory
The fact that Bound For Glory is on here as the least enjoyable pay-per-view of the year is crazy, seeing as the card featured more than one superb match.
It was a night that saw Ace Austin lift the X Division Championship from Jake Crist in a hectic five-person Ladder Match that involved Acey Romero taking a brutal bump from atop a ladder through a table at ringside. Victories for Michael Elgin and Moose over Marufuji and Ken Shamrock respectively saw huge wins for those two, with Elgin vs. Marufuji especially being a wonderfully-executed encounter.
Perhaps the biggest drawback from the night was the main event, as Brian Cage retained his World Championship against Sami Callihan in a weapons-filled No Disqualifications Match. You can't take anything away from them, as it was an immensely good match between two of the company's biggest names, but you can always argue that 'The Draw' should've won the title at Impact's biggest pay-per-view of the year. We'll get to the title change later, but it would've been a huge moment to end the night had Callihan won the title here.
