13 Ups & 4 Downs For Impact Wrestling In 2019

10. To The Extreme

Some wrestling fans love a good technical classic to get their taste buds going. Others prefer to sit and watch an all over the place spotfest. However, the more sadistic of us will happily glue our eyes to the screen as the wrestlers involved beat each other to a bloody pulp with the use of their favourite weapons. When you get some variation of a weapons match in Impact, then there's a high chance you're in for a good time, providing you like that sort of stuff of course.

2019 saw a shedload of balls to the wall extreme encounters that left many wincing at some of the spots that took place throughout. Whether it was a Spanish fly off a ladder through a table on the ramp, a Drill Claw on a pile of thumbtacks, or a flying Madman Fulton being caught mid-flight with a Samoan drop, the list of death-defying spots in these sorts of matches rolls on. That last one may not sound as amazing as the two that came before it, but it was still a sight to see, considering Fulton is a reasonably tall man. That match as a whole, which saw all four members of oVe taking on Fallah Bahh, Rich Swann, Tommy Dreamer, and Willie Mack, remains one of the more underrated bouts in Impact from 2019.

These matches aren't necessarily extreme bloodbaths, but they're filled with enough high spots and weapon-based bumps to warrant them being deemed 'extreme'. Seeing as they're a company that cater to all age groups who wish to view their product, it's a sensible thing on Impact's part. If they're putting on matches featuring excessive blood loss, then some younger fans may not be allowed to watch it.

Having just the right amount of brutality in the bouts is essential for growing the fanbase to its highest possible point.
