13 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Fyter Fest 2019

5. Best Friends Win Highlights The Buy In

Fyter Fest's Buy In pre-show kicked off with a three-way tag scramble between Private Party, SCU's Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian, and Best Friends, with a daft stipulation meaning the winners would earn the opportunity to wrestle for a first-round bye in the upcoming tag tournament at All Out (nonsense, as they'd therefore need to wrestle one more match than anyone else to reach round two).

That notable contrivance aside, the bout was lots of fun. Exploratory opening exchanges offered flashes of the excitement to come, and the three teams meshed well together, with Party Private providing the most flurries of athleticism (getting themselves over in the process), the popular SCU douching it up, and Best Friends sitting somewhere in the middle. It had a rough edge or two (one saw Chuckie T. fling Isiah Kasidy into a Trent cutter - but he didn't get all of it), but it was sharp, exciting, entertaining, and full of character. A solid way to introduce Private Party and take the other two teams forward from Double Or Nothing.

The finish came following a signature move shoot-out, with big kickouts escalating the drama before Best Friends finally nailed Kasidy with the Strong Zero for the victory. A hoot of a match, particularly late on, and a great way to get started.
