13 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Nov 27)

7. Statlander Shines... Again

Kris Statlander is absolutely great and should be pushed to the moon in AEW's women's division. With her, Hikaru Shida, and Shanna emerging recently, the signs are good for the division going forward, even if the roster still needs another new face or two to beef it out.

Statlander shone in a strong midcard tag bout pitting her and Shida against Bea Prestley and former Women's Championship contender Emi Sakura. Her explosive, eye-catching offensive meshed extremely well with Shida and her opponents and she looked particularly good coming out of an extended heat segment on her partner.

One villainous moment saw Sakura bring her microphone stand into play without Bryce Remsburg noticing, with Jim Ross noting he was getting played (this makes sense - he was). This continued to the finish. A mic stand cheapshot while Bea Priestley held Remsburg's attention allowed Sakura to score the pinfall on Statlander, who is still waiting for her first AEW win.
