Tony Schiavone was out for the night, leading to AEW recruiting "All Elite Fleet member" (read: literal competition winner) Marco Solis Martinez as the third man in the announce booth for the show's first part. A gamble, and one that didn't pay off, as Martinez offered less than Renee Young and Percy Watson used to on WWE television.

In over his head, the biggest problem was that Martinez brought no real energy to the table. That's a big issue when announcing a match featuring an act as kinetic as the Lucha Brothers and while relatively unintrusive, his brief, fleeting interjections had no life to time.

Recent episodes of Dark have seen the likes of Taz, Shawn Spears, and Dustin Rhodes step in as guest announcers. Them or Goldenboy would've been a better shout here. Still, at least it wasn't Alex Marvez...
