13 Wrestlers In Situations That Scared The Sh*t Out Of Them

7. Ric Flair Being Behind Enemy Lines In North Korea

In April of 1995, WCW promoted the 'Collision in Korea' alongside New Japan Pro Wrestling. The event took place in Pyongyang, North Korea, the controversial dictator state that was ruled by Kim Jong Il. WCW's judgement was very questionable. They were basically going to a terrorist led country, with allegations of genocide swirling around Kim Jong Il. His people lived in a slave like status, where dissension was punishable by death. The United States government made no secret of their condemnation of North Korea, they viewed it as an enemy state and advised against travel there. Yet WCW still went. Ric Flair talks about the experience in his autobiography, noting how uneasy the WCW crew felt in the shady country. Right away their passports were confiscated. They were also attached to 'minders', who were basically there to make sure they didn't spread dissension. Muhammad Ali was also participating in the trip. Flair scariest moment came when the big man spoke out against the Korean leadership. Ironically, Ali had barely said two words all trip, due to the pain of his parkinson's disease. All of a sudden he piped up at a Korean speech, "no wonder we hate these mother f***ers". Flair couldn't believe it. "My hair practically stood up on my head. 'Oh s**t' I whispered, 'don't start talking now!"
