13 Wrestlers In Situations That Scared The Sh*t Out Of Them
6. Jeff Hardy's Biggest Swanton Bombs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4w_MW7cfZY Make no mistake about it, Jeff Hardy is a human being, he experiences fear. When he's stood 20 feet high about to throw his body off a height, he feels the exact same way you would feel - scared as hell. There's just no way to protect yourself on the move like a swanton. Throwing yourself twenty feet off a ladder on to your back is going to HURT. Sadly, it's partly to explain for Jeff's subsequent drug problems. Those moves will crush your back and neck. He tried medicating that pain with illegal drugs at various points in his life. Choosing the dive that scared Jeff the most is a case of 'take your pick'. The one at WrestleMania 2000 stands out. There was no way of protecting the fall, it was like staring into an abyss for Jeff. The SummerSlam 2000 and 2009 swantons were also a guaranteed bruiser. In all seriousness, those falls could easily have broken his back. He was falling at pace, from a height, with nothing more than a table to cushion his fall. Or how about the 30 foot dive Hardy did on to Randy Orton in a 2008 Raw main event? Take a look at Jeff's face in the video above. Right before he dives, he looks truly nervous. Falling all the way from the top of the Raw set's scaffolding, the camera angle covers the fact that Hardy might have had something cushioning his fall. Still, that had to be a scary leap of faith. And we haven't even mentioned the infamous WrestleMania 17 spear that Edge hit on Jeff in mid-air. When it comes to bumps, Jeff Hardy has really been through the wringer.
