13 WWE Divas Champions That Left The Company

9. Maryse

Following the standard formula of professional model-becomes-professional wrestler, Maryse unseated Michelle McCool for the WWE Divas Championship in late-2008, and held the gold for approximately seven months, a record that stood until AJ Lee broke it in the early part of 2014. Like a number of Divas, Maryse found romance among the male roster, marrying long-time star The Miz in early-2014. Maryse was released from the company in October 2011, and has pretty much stayed away from the business, sans a few appearances as a commentator for northeast-based Family Wrestling Entertainment. A month after her exit, she was quoted in a SLAM Wrestling interview as saying, "I knew in my heart that I wanted to leave WWE for a long time. I'm a business woman. I need to build and grow and I didn't have any interest in the WWE anymore. I was like, next!"
