Given how much television time has been allotted to Nikki and Brie Bella over the past several years, it's hard to believe that the two actually left WWE shortly after the Extreme Rules pay-per-view in April 2012. Nikki revealed in a later interview that burnout played a major factor in the sisters' decision, and with their contracts coming due, they decided to take an extended break. Nikki's career at the moment is imperiled by a serious neck injury, which has required surgery and has her on the shelf for an indefinite amount of time. Nikki has pointed to her kneeling backbreaker drop, aka The Rack Attack, as the culprit for her gradual physical breakdown. If she does return, it will likely be without her sibling.
